Booking terms
Scope: These terms apply only to direct bookings for the international-visitor dates of this experience through “Akizuki Kyogen — Direct Booking (English)”. They do not change the terms of existing domestic experiences or bookings made through other sellers.

Your experience
Meet at Akizuki VOX for an introduction to Kyogen and an optional hands-on session. Watch the play, walk through its setting with a local guide, then return to Akizuki VOX for bento and conversation with the Kyogen performer.
Akizuki Castle Town: Kyogen Theater & Historic Footpath Walk starts and ends at Akizuki VOX, 586 Akizuki, Asakura, Fukuoka, Japan. Available dates are November 18 and December 16, 2026; January 20 and February 17, 2027, from 10:00 to 14:00 Japan Standard Time (JST). Reservations close at 12:00 noon JST three calendar days before the experience.

Arrival
Look for the white noren (fabric curtain) marked “秋月 VOX” at the entrance. Please come inside and speak to a staff member.
Price and participation
The price is JPY 15,000 per adult aged 13 or older and JPY 10,000 per child aged 6–12, tax included. Children aged 5 or younger cannot participate. Each booking must include 2–10 guests; each date has a maximum of ten guests. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Payment
Direct bookings are paid in cash in Japanese yen at Akizuki VOX on the experience day. No card payment is collected when you book. Advance booking is required. Check the final booking total and cash-on-arrival payment method before confirming your reservation.
If an ordinary cancellation fee is due for a cash-on-arrival booking, we email a Stripe payment link. Please pay within seven days of that email.

The weather rules below take precedence over ordinary cancellation fees.
Rain program and weather refunds

| Heavier rain without a warning | The guide may switch to an indoor program of about two hours, without a town walk: a Kyogen performance, optional hands-on activities, a local bento lunch and conversation with the performer. The price is half the normal price. If you paid the normal price, we refund JPY 7,500 per adult or JPY 5,000 per child to the original payment method. |
| The previous day’s decision | Around 17:00 JST the day before, we email the decision on the usual or indoor program. If the indoor program is offered, please reply with your choice to join or decline by 21:00 JST the same day. If there is no reply, Taro Ishii contacts you individually. No reply alone does not automatically cancel your booking. |
| Indoor program times | When decided the day before: 10:00–12:00 JST. If the program switches indoors after the experience has started, it lasts about two hours from the switch. The meeting place and 10:00 start remain the same. |

The refund equals the amount actually paid, less any refund already issued.
The weather-related price and cancellation rules above take precedence over ordinary cancellation fees.
Language and requests
The guide can converse in some English and uses a translation app to support explanations. This is not a fully English-language guided tour or an interpreting service. Please report food allergies or seating needs when booking; requests are subject to confirmation.
Booking contact
A phone number including country code is required when booking for urgent booking-related contact. If you use WhatsApp or another messaging app, you may also provide the app name and contact details; this is optional.
